Les Moonlight Girls

Bio - Moonlight Girls

The Moonlight Girls are : Isabelle Gagné, Céline Bélair and Karine Pion.

Wherever they go The Moonlight Girls are greeted with great enthusiasm by their fans and the Media who are swept away by the group’s positive energy, their authenticity, their stunning vocal virtuosity and the richness of their sound. Drawing from The Andrews Sisters unique heritage, The Moonlight Girls are not only emerging as talented vocalists, arrangers and song-writers, but are also being noticed more and more for their original approach of the American and French Swing repertoire.

Thanks to the success of “Moonlight Café“, the group’s latest album (which reached the top 13 in Quebec and the top 200 in Canada in July 2008 and received a “Felix” trophy nomination for “Jazz Album of the year by the ADISQ association (Quebec's top musical industry awards) in 2009), The Moonlight Girls and their musicians continue to tour and perform before enthusiastic crowds. The “Moonlight Café” live tour presents the songs from the newest album as well as many great classics the Swing music fans crave, such as In The Mood, Chattanooga Choo Choo and others. Also, starting in December 2010, The Moonlight Girls will premiere their Swingin’ Christmas show.

Noted as outstanding for their performances at the 2004, 2005 and 2008 editions of the Montreal International Jazz Festival, The Moonlight Girls Vocal Swing Trio has also performed live in the most important venues and festivals throughout Quebec since their beginning. Notably, as the starring act of the prestigious “10th anniversary Cabaret” evening of the Montreal Hight Lights Festival 2009, during Quebec City’s 400th anniversary celebrations, at Montreal’s Casino and at Lanaudiere’s International Festival 2009 and many others. Further more, since the launch, in June 2004, of their self-titled debut album (also launched in South Korea by EMI in 2007), the sparkling group the Media like to call “The Triplets of Montreal” is frequently heard on Canadian national television and radio.
